This report presents data from Lex Machina’s Legal Analytics platform. Using machine learning and technology-assisted attorney review, we extract raw data from PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records), which contains documents from Federal District Court. We then clean, tag, structure, and load this data into Lex Machina’s proprietary platform. The Lex Machina Product Team compiles practice area reports, using data, charts, and graphs directly from the platform, and adds commentary by Lex Machina’s legal experts.
